First as Security Minister for over 3 years and now as Defence Secretary I have probably attended more COBRA’s than anyone else in Cabinet. - IT IS NORMAL FOR THEM TO BE CHAIRED BY A SECRETARY OF STATE. PM’s don’t “skip” Cobra’s. What a load of nonsense the Insight story is.

Only politicians who didn’t experience the deep division, anger & nastiness of the tragic Scottish Indy Referendum would push for a second EU vote. Because that is what it would be like. There was a “people’s vote”. Remainers like me lost. We need to move on not moan on.

76 years ago British , Commonwealth, French and US soldiers landed on the Normandy beaches. Thousands died. They did so to end fascism, they did so so that Black lives would matter. Perhaps those protesters who defaced the Cenataph should reflect on that.
