A relatively small number of desperate people are crossing the channel seeking refuge. If they make it safely and claim asylum, they will be refused the right to work here and expected to live on £36 a week. I don’t understand those whose first instinct is anger at them.

Very disappointed that the Conservatives have voted down amendments which would have protected UK food and farming standards in trade deals.
