A prorogation normally happens every autumn. This parliamentary session has lasted three years - the longest since the Civil War. We have a new PM and he is entitled to a Queen’s Speech to set out his new agenda. It is quite ridiculous to suggest it is “a coup”.

I will be voting against this motion tonight as it completely undermines the PM’s attempt to get a deal on Brexit. It is little more than a cynical attempt to delay or revoke the whole process by those who have never accepted the result of the referendum.
