The absurdity of the appointment of Mr. Abbott to the role of 'envoy' on Indigenous affairs demonstrates the Government's lack of respect for First Nations.
As one of my good friends, an old West Australian man told me:

The suggestion that Tony Abbott could act as some kind of messenger or representative for First Nations people is condescending and a serious worry for First Nations people. https://t.co/HvUr4D5P63

Just astonishing that First Nations people have clearly asked the Government for a Voice to Parliament – and the new Prime Minister Scott Morrison has given them Tony Abbott! The Government has once again demonstrated their unwillingness to listen to First Nations people. https://t.co/6smrK0OqCk

Remembering Eddie Koiki #Mabo today for the contribition he made to dispelling the lie of Terra Nullius. We thank his family, particularly Mrs. Mabo for their sacrifices. Australia is yet to come to grips with the basis upon which these lands were stolen from First Nations pepole pic.twitter.com/T2CSlKeXpT
